Serotonin even helps to regulate sleep patterns. Many people take antidepressants called SSRIs to help them make more serotonin or for some other reason altogether, but there are some risks involved with these drugs which you should consider before taking them.

There are many foods that boost Serotonin, but first you must understand what serotonin itself is. It is basically a type of chemical that enhances your emotional conditions and is released from your brain every time something good happens to you or your body.

Serotonin is basically a chemical that is produced from the reward centre that is present in your brain every time something good is accomplished by you. Serotonin helps you deal with certain problems such as mental health complications otherwise known as depression, stress, anxiety and many other severe problems such as insomnia as well. 

Here are some foods that will improve your serotonin levels naturally.

Salmon

Salmon is a very nutritious sort of fish and the primary reason it is so healthy for your body is because of the omega-3 fatty acids that are present within it. As you probably know, these amazing fatty acids are known to help you lose weight, but the other great thing that is present in it, is the amino acid tryptophan (something that is not produced by our bodies, but instead come from our diet, alternatively you could use Tryptophan supplements) which is a very essential component in the production of serotonin. It also produces vitamin D therefore increasing your bone calcium deposition making your bones harder an even boosting your serotonin levels to a greater level.

Nuts and seeds

Nuts also contain a the crucial tryptophan, as well as certain proteins that have  tryptophan as their essential component. Therefore consider nuts and certain seeds to be a very healthy thing to snack on.

Poultry

Poultry animals such as chickens and primarily Turkey is considered a very good source for tryptophan and therefore is essential in maintaining your health in pristine conditions, not just that, it will also boost your serotonin levels which are sure to make you much more healthier.

Soy

Soy is also a very good source for tryptophan and therefore boosts your tryptophan levels, indirectly increasing your serotonin levels as well. The primary sources of soy can be soy milk which is greatly used by vegetarians as a replacement for meat or normal milk for the amino acid tryptophan. Many people also used tofu as a great source for tryptophan. 

Dairy products

Dairy products are great, they include so many essential vitamins which are necessary for maintaining and healthy body, these include, calcium, potassium, vitamin D, protein and of course Tryptophan. Primarily it is the dairy products such as milk and cheese which can serve as a perfect source for tryptophan and therefore boost your serotonin levels.
